NetBuilder is zipped up with its InstallShield installation and uninstallation files, and you are strongly recommended to use these to install NetBuilder on your computer. Follow the following steps:
1. Locate the latest version of NetBuilder in the table below, and download it as a zip file. Store it in a temporary directory on your computer.
2. Extract all files contained in NetBuilder.zip in a directory of your choice (here referred to as < installdir >). You will need WinZip to do the extraction. I f it is not installed on your computer, you can download and install a free evaluation version of WinZip 8.1.
3. Run setup.exe (in < installdir >) and follow the instructions given by the setup program.
NetBuilder un-installation
To uninstall NetBuilder, run Add/Remove programs from the Control Panel in My Computer. Find the NetBuilder entry in the program list under the Install/Uninstall tab, and press the Add/Remove button.
NetBuilder updates
NetBuilder is a program in development, and small changes are introduced on a regular basis. Sometimes, network diagrams created and saved with an older version of NetBuilder can be read into a newer edition of NetBuilder. Compatible versions have the same version number, but a different date. However, NetBuilder editions with a different version number are presently incompatible: files cannot be exchanged between differently numbered versions. Therefore, previous versions of NetBuilder remain available on this page.
If you want to install the latest version of NetBuilder, and an older version is already installed on your computer, you can simply replace the older executable ("NetBuilder.exe") with the newer one, if you wish. It is also possible to have different concurrent versions in different directories.

1) Version 05 Nov 2002 contains an 'Export' button on Simulation Toolbar: press it to open dialog box containing all variables, parameter values, and equations (ASCII format) for the current network. It can also be used to generate and export an SBML translation. Under the 'Timer' button, a maximum number of evaluation rounds can now be set: after pressing the 'Propagate' button, evaluation will stop when this number of rounds have been carried out. Several minor errors have been rectified.
2) Temporary patch: newer release of version 0.94 - please download and replace the 5 November 2002 version if you are experiencing difficulties with the tutorial (specifically: if the values do not percolate from the input end of a gene, through the logic symbols, to the output end of the gene).
